This was a triumph.
I’m making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.
It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction.
Aperture Science
We do what we must
because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.
But there’s no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.
I’m not even angry.
I’m being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data make a beautiful line.
And we’re out of beta.
We’re releasing on time.
So I’m GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are still alive.
Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you’ll find someone else to help you.
Maybe Black Mesa
THAT WAS A JOKE.
HAHA. FAT CHANCE.
Anyway, this cake is great.
It’s so delicious and moist.
Look at me still talking
when there’s Science to do.
When I look out there, it makes me GLaD I’m not you.
I’ve experiments to run.
There is research to be done.
On the people who are still alive.
And believe me I am still alive.
I’m doing Science and I’m still alive.
I feel FANTASTIC and I’m still alive.
While you’re dying I’ll be still alive.
And when you’re dead I will be still alive.
STILL ALIVE

The one downside of working almost every day is you lose all sense of time.  For example, I have no idea what day today is.

I haven’t posted in a few days, but I shall.  It’s been a few busy days at work, and I have just been drained when I get home.

But more importantly, Happy Birthday Seth!

Watch this.

I know it’s frustrating for people to leave college with degrees and still not have any real skills.  I can name a few people like that right now off the top of my head.  (First one that comes to mind, English Major.)  I had a useful major, and I had some real life type skills before I went to school.  Most of my lower level classes I didn’t do so well in because I felt that I wasn’t learning anything applicable, so I never really tried.  My upper division classes were another story altogether.  If I went back and did the math, the difference in GPA between my lower level and upper level classes was something like 2 whole points.

But anyway, I take a certain kind of delight when I apply something I learned in class to my job.  It reminds me that my thousands in school loans didn’t go to waste.   I am now going to end this post because my train of thought has completely derailed, and I don’t remember what else I was going to say.

I’ve always admired the man for his non science fiction related exploits, and here is a great example of it.  I’m currently listening to his album, “Has Been.”  It’s produced by Ben Folds and I love it.  My favorite track is called That’s Me Trying  It happens to feature Ben Folds and Aimee Mann.  I listened to it a lot during college.  Its haunting and emotional.  And mellow.

Today was an especially long day at work.  Metaphorically and literally.  I didn’t end up leaving until four hours after I was scheduled, and it was just one crisis after another.  I don’t mind crises, mind you.  In fact, I find that they can be quite fun.  When you’re running around putting out fire after fire, the day kind of flies by.  But not today.  And after a while I was just brain dead.  I’ll give you an few examples.  One, I thought that there was some mystery 13th month between November and December.  I also thought that five plus three was seven.  Yes, today I was a WINNAH.

British television is incredibly entertaining, and yet at the same time the most incredibly frustrating thing in the world.  Probably more so to me because I am an American.  Here I am used to the annual 21-22 episode season, allowing me sheer entertainment for a little over a third of a year.  In England, not so.  Their shows, although absolutely brilliant, operate on much much shorter seasons.  I shall provide with examples of what I am currently watching.  First is Hyperdrive.  An absolutely hilarious science fiction parody starring Nick Frost of Shaun of the Dead fame.  The premise is that humanity has finally reached the stars, but with one slight complication.  We’ve never managed to form a united world government.  So Nick Frost’s character, Commander Henderson, commands the HMS Camden Lock and his mission is to protect Britain’s interests in an ever changing galaxy.  Hilarity ensues.  Trust me.  But I digress, this show only lasts for a total of twelve one hour episodes.  Split up into two six episode seasons.  This kind of sucks.  Next up is Black Adder.  That’s what, five six episode seasons?  And then Top Gear, that often varies from 6-8 episodes a season, but they seem to do a season every 3/4ths of a year.  And then there’s the IT Crowd.  Six episodes a season.  Half hour episodes to boot, not full hour episodes.  And then The Office.  Two seasons of six.

Anyhow, if you are going to get into Britcoms, be prepared to be delighted.  And oh so ever frustrated.
